Revitalize Your Look: Exploring the Benefits of Neuromodulators for Anti-Aging

KHROM MEDSPA & WELLNESS provides neuromodulator cosmetic treatments that effectively smooth fine lines and wrinkles in Brooklyn and Cobble Hill, New York. These treatments prevent facial muscles from contracting, which helps to avoid the deep lines caused by expressions. Additionally, they can be used therapeutically to alleviate neck pain, reduce excessive sweating, and even manage chronic migraines.

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo Q & A KHROM MEDSPA & WELLNESS

Many fine lines and wrinkles are caused by overactive facial muscles. These injectables are FDA-approved, safe neurotoxins that temporarily prevent abnormal muscle contractions by blocking the nerve signals to the muscles where they are injected.

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo are FDA-approved options for addressing several aesthetic concerns, such as the lines that form between the eyebrows, frown lines, forehead creases, crow’s feet, and neck bands. These treatments can also effectively reduce the appearance of a stout jawline, lift the brow area, correct an uneven or “gummy” smile, and tackle other facial issues linked to overactive muscles.

Beyond their cosmetic applications, Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo are also approved for treating excessive sweating in areas such as the underarms and palms. They can help alleviate chronic neck pain and are effective in managing certain types of chronic migraines. These treatments relieve migraines and ease muscle tension in the head, neck, and shoulders. Additionally, they may help avert future migraines by inhibiting overactive nerves.

A skilled provider will numb the treatment area and then administer a controlled dose of Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Letybo via a tiny needle to the overactive muscle. Discomfort is minimal. Resting immediately after treatment is recommended, but normal activity can typically be resumed the same day. Heavy exercise should be avoided for 24 hours.

The effects of Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo can last from a few months to a year, depending on the treatment area and desired results. For wrinkle reduction and standard applications of these products, you may notice results within three to five days, but optimal smoothing may take up to two weeks. When it comes to jaw reduction, initial changes can appear after a week, while full results might take about six weeks and last up to a year. If you’re treating excessive sweating, you can expect results to begin within 48 hours, lasting for up to a year. For migraine treatment, these injections are generally given every three months.

What are Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo?

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo are medical-grade procedures commonly used to smooth facial tissue. They involve the injection of a small dose of a neurotoxin into specific muscles using a fine needle. These treatments are ideal for reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. In addition to their cosmetic benefits, Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo also have therapeutic applications. They can treat conditions such as neck pain, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), and even chronic migraines. These procedures are popular among both male and female clients.

How do they work?

Fine lines and wrinkles are often caused by excessive muscle contraction. When Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo are administered, they block nerve signals that trigger muscle contraction.

Hi everyone, I’m doctor Khrome from Khrome dermatology and aesthetics. It’s summertime, but while you are all on the beach, we’re thinking about the fall and winter and what’s fall and winter? It’s boot season. It’s time for us to go shopping for those sexy boots and high heels. So, does anyone ever experience a problem when they love a pair of boots and they can’t zip them up? Well, today we’re solving that particular issue. So come over. We just injected some Botox to slim down the calfs in my lovely patient. She will see visible results in about a month. Her calfs will swim down and she will be able to buy the most beautiful boots that she wants. Stay tuned for her results take care.

Perioral Lines

Perioral lines are often referred to as smoker’s lips. These are the vertical lip lines around the upper and lower lips. These lines appear bolder during talking, drinking from a straw, and general lip pursing. Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo treatment in this area will improve the appearance and prevent the lines from becoming deeper. This treatment can also make the lips look fuller. This occurs because the muscle that wraps around the mouth is relaxed, gently averting the lips in a natural form.

Brow Lift

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo injections administered in specific sites can reshape the brows by giving them a lift and correcting the droopy or angry brow. A successful brow lift can round and open up the eyes.

Crow’s Feet

Today, Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo are FDA approved for treating crow’s feet, which are the lateral canthal lines near the temples. These treatments involve tiny injections administered at various sites to reduce these noticeable dynamic lines. In addition to addressing crow’s feet, Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo can correct eye misalignment. They are commonly used to treat blepharospasm, also known as twitchy eye. In some cases, these neuromodulators may be injected into the under-eye area alongside the crow’s feet to help lessen the appearance of bags.

Smile Correction

Your smile can greatly influence your surroundings, whether at work, social events, or simply while out in public. A great smile can truly brighten someone’s day. However, some people struggle with a condition known as a “gummy smile.” This occurs when the upper lip lifts too high, revealing too much gum above the teeth. The cause of this can be a hyperactive muscle or a naturally thin lip.

Fortunately, smile correction is achievable through non-surgical procedures offered by qualified practitioners. A small amount of Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Letybo can be injected into the hyperactive muscle of the upper lip, resulting in a more balanced and natural smile. Additionally, if you desire a fuller upper lip, treatments such as Restylane or Juvederm fillers can be included in your plan.

Jaw Reduction

If you want to slim down your face and achieve a softer appearance, consider reducing the width of your jaw for a more defined and attractive facial shape. Treatments like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo, which work by weakening the chewing muscle, can accomplish this.

What happens to the jaw muscles when Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Letybo is injected?

When the purified protein is injected into the jaw muscles on both sides of the face, the muscle becomes partially relaxed. The muscle that is not contracting will lose mass and size over time.

Will I have problems chewing my food?

While uncommon, some patients may temporarily experience jaw exhaustion. This condition will resolve on its own.

Is the procedure painful?

Due to the very thin diameter of the needles, minimal to no discomfort is felt.

What are the side effects of jaw reduction using Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Letybo?

Like most cosmetic injection procedures, there is a small chance of experiencing mild bruising or redness at the injection site. However, you can resume your normal activities immediately afterward.

How long will it take to see noticeable results?

Within seven days, you will notice that your jawline looks softer. It may take up to six weeks to see a noticeable reduction in the jaw line that is guaranteed to last between six months and a little over a year.

Excessive Sweating

Although sweating is normal, excessive sweating can be quite uncomfortable. Sweat is produced by the nervous system, and while we have sweat glands throughout our bodies, they are concentrated in certain areas. Excessive sweating is medically diagnosed as hyperhidrosis and most commonly occurs in the hands, feet, armpits, and genital regions.

Hyperhidrosis affects 2-3% of Americans today. Thankfully, treatments like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo can effectively address this condition. These treatments work by blocking the release of acetylcholine at the nerve endings that stimulate the sweat glands.

Results from these procedures can last between 6 and 12 months. A sweat test is performed, followed by Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Letybo injections into 10 to 15 sites. The procedure generally takes about 20 to 30 minutes. The FDA recommends administering 100 units, although this amount may vary depending on the individual.

How are Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo administered?

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo are administered with a fine needle. Approximately 50 units of the chosen treatment are injected into each armpit (axilla). Normal activities can be resumed immediately; however, avoiding heavy exercise for several hours after the procedure is advisable.

When will Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo take effect?

Sweating will decrease by 90% within 48 hours, and the full effect will be experienced within a week. You may also notice the disappearance of odor associated with decreased sweating.

Migraine Headaches

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo injections can treat headaches by targeting areas in the forehead, neck, and shoulders where patients experience pain and tension. These treatments work by reducing muscle tension, which helps alleviate strain on the nervous system. Additionally, Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Letybo can not only reduce stress on the nervous system to help prevent migraines but also lessen the severity of headaches by blocking pain receptors in nerve cells.

For optimal results, multiple injections are administered at 12-week intervals, and the effects can last up to three months.
